Rapid Resolution Therapy

Rehabilitation programs generally last anywhere from several weeks to several months. The most common length of stay is 28 to 30 days, and during that time, clients undergoing rehabilitation experience many changes.

Achieving emotional stability and creating new healthy routines are essential steps in the treatment process. Rapid resolution therapy (RRT) is a therapeutic method we use at The Family Place to provide emotional relief by clearing and resolving the pain from past traumatic events to include grief, loss, guilt, shame, and physical and sexual abuse. The nature of this therapy leads to fundamental positive changes after only a short period of time. Most individuals only need one to three full sessions to begin noticing a significant reduction of emotional pain.

Rapid Resolution Therapy

What Is Rapid Resolution Therapy?

Trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues can interfere with treatment and ongoing sobriety. Rapid resolution therapy is a therapeutic method we offer to help clients find healthy ways to cope with symptoms and daily stressors by addressing the root causes of emotional distress.

RRT is a relatively new therapy created by Dr. Jon Connelly. According to the official Rapid Resolution Therapy website, “RRT changes how the unconscious mind processes information so that improvements are natural, automatic, and lasting.” Unlike more traditional therapies, RRT can produce noticeable positive results within as few as three full sessions. Individuals with the following issues might benefit from rapid resolution therapy:

  • Frequent emotional outburst
  • Difficulty processing anger or other negative emotions
  • Extreme mood shifts
  • Sleep disturbances or insomnia
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Decreased stress tolerance
  • Guilt, shame, and grief or loss

At The Family Place, we have specially trained therapists who use rapid resolution therapy to assist individuals in overcoming various emotional or mental health challenges related to recovery from substance use disorder (SUD). We meet every client where they are and use all the treatment methods at our disposal to ensure they feel supported, heard, and understood. The family environment at our facility encourages quick and effective healing. We use rapid resolution therapy alongside other psychotherapy and meditative techniques.

Start the Healing Process

You can take back control of your life by doing the work to reclaim your health and independence. Rapid resolution therapy is available to all clients and provides an excellent option for overcoming maladaptive thought patterns, behaviors, and unconscious biases. You do not have to be controlled by impulses or cravings any longer. RRT makes it easier to identify problematic behavior and choose better methods for coping with daily stressors.

The clinicians at The Family Place may incorporate aspects of RRT with other forms of therapy. We tailor each program to the needs of the individual and accommodate personal, religious, and cultural traditions when we create your treatment plan. The Benefits of Rapid Resolution Therapy

One of the primary benefits of rapid resolution therapy is that it requires fewer individual therapy sessions to achieve significant and lasting changes. You can also move at your own pace. RRT gives you the freedom to transition to continuing outpatient care or a sober living community when you feel comfortable. Some primary benefits of rapid resolution therapy include:

  • Emotion regulation and stabilization
  • Higher stress threshold
  • Decreased symptoms of mood disorders, trauma-related disorders, and anxiety
  • Increased self-confidence, self-awareness, and self-accountability

Other possible benefits include a shorter treatment stay, lower social anxiety, and improved self-efficacy. RRT ensures you have the necessary tools to succeed at navigating certain aspects of recovery and sobriety. By embracing treatment and therapy, you can give yourself a chance to live a healthier and happier life.

What to Expect During Rapid Resolution Therapy

We embrace a trauma-focused approach to care and use RRT or other therapies to provide support for individuals struggling with addictive behaviors and co-occurring disorders. Rapid resolution therapy involves a variety of therapeutic techniques, including:

  • Discussing emotional topics
  • Symptom management
  • Guided imagery
  • Dream interpretation
  • Mindfulness and meditation
  • Hypnotherapy
  • Storytelling as a format for exploring complex subjects

It is important to note that in RRT the client is not required to describe the traumatic event in detail or revisit it during sessions. Metaphors and symbolic imagery are an essential part of RRT because they allow clients to connect conscious thoughts and unconscious motivations. RRT is an excellent option for individuals who feel unsatisfied with traditional talk therapy.

Increase Communication and Self-Awareness

RRT uses many forms of communication, including storytelling, conversations, symbolism, and metaphors, to resolve emotional issues. Rapid resolution therapy aims to relieve symptoms and create a healthy sense of self. The sooner you feel confident in yourself and your ability to cope with issues related to recovery, the easier it will be to transition out of treatment and into aftercare services. You can learn more by visiting our Aftercare page.

Heal From the Effects of Trauma

RRT focuses on your emotional health and aspects of the limbic system, including the hypothalamus, hippocampus, and amygdala. Trauma affects all of these areas in various ways, and through therapy, you can heal and grow. We offer multiple therapeutic methods focused on trauma recovery, including RRT. In addition to learning emotion regulation and other valuable skills, you can use RRT to embrace all parts of yourself and find healthy ways to adjust your thought patterns and behaviors to keep moving forward each day.

Find a New Path Forward

You can find a new path forward using treatments like RRT. By learning more about yourself and building healthier routines, you create a better future for yourself and your family. Every day is an opportunity to learn, grow, and heal. At The Family Place, we offer an intimate atmosphere where individuals in recovery feel heard and understood.

You are not alone. Our mission when using RRT is for you to hold on to the thoughts, behaviors, and actions that have value in your life and to show you how to let go of the thoughts, behaviors, and actions that no longer have value. Break the cycle of addiction and substance misuse today.
