Our Treatment Programs and Services

The substance abuse programs at The Family Place are solely focused on the needs of pregnant women and moms with young children. In order to treat clients from varying backgrounds, our programs utilize all appropriate levels of care and many individualized techniques. Since each person in recovery is unique and has a different history, we believe it is important to create an individualized program for each client utilizing a variety of proven therapies and techniques.

Pre Treatment Assessment

Before beginning treatment, all women seeking admission to The Family Place undergo a thorough medical and psychosocial assessment. Each individual’s medical and psychological history is reviewed; including current symptoms and the impact those symptoms are having on her ability to function on a daily basis. During these sessions, underlying causes and situations are often exposed. Once complete, the assessment is reviewed by members of our clinical staff who will then determine the most appropriate level of care. If it is determined that a partial hospitalization program (PHP) or intensive outpatient program (IOP) will be of the most benefit to the woman in need, the admissions process will continue.

Detoxification

Detoxifying a pregnant woman is a highly specialized procedure that must consider the health and safety of both mother and unborn child. If it is determined that detox is required, we refer those services to a medical facility where women are supervised and monitored 24/7 by physicians and nurses. Detoxification can last up to a week or more and marks the beginning of a client’s residential addiction treatment. As soon as detox is safely completed; treatment at The Family Place can begin.

Specific treatment plans at The Family Place are personalized to each individual’s needs and combine elements of prenatal care and nutrition with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), 12-step facilitation programs, group therapy, one-on-one sessions and a lot more. Family visits and participation are considered to be extremely valuable and an important part of the healing process.
